Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 22 Brigade have arrested the wife of a suspected terror kingpin, identified as Auta Ilori, during an offensive operation in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The operation, conducted on June 15, covered the Lafiagi, Gbugbu and Ndeji areas as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal hideouts and disrupt the activities of armed groups in the state.
Military sources said the suspect’s wife and her three children were apprehended near Ndeji town while she was reportedly on her way to her husband’s camp.
In a related operation, troops also arrested another suspect along with his wife and two children at a residence where Ilori’s wife had allegedly spent the night.
According to military sources, the kingpin’s wife admitted during preliminary interrogation that she was aware of her husband’s involvement in terrorism and kidnapping activities.
The arrested persons are currently in military custody and are undergoing further investigation.
