Troops rescue 21 kidnapped victims, foil multiple attacks in nationwide operations

The Nigerian Army has achieved several major operational gains in the last 24 hours, rescuing 21 kidnapped victims, thwarting terror attacks, and disrupting illegal crude oil activities across the country.

The Army Headquarters noted that troops across various theatres have maintained intensified offensives.

Under Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Zamfara and Kebbi States, troops repelled attacks, rescued civilians, and responded swiftly to violent incidents.

In Maradun, troops of 1 Brigade confronted terrorists who had invaded Baigasuwa community, rescuing residents despite four civilians sustaining gunshot injuries.

In Kebbi, terrorists attacked a Nigeria Immigration Service checkpoint in Bagudo, killing three personnel and burning vehicles before escaping.

Troops also rescued five people and a baby along the Unashi–Doka road in Danko Wasagu LGA after the kidnappers abandoned their captives upon sighting soldiers.

In the Kogi and Kogi–Kwara axis, Operation MESA troops freed four kidnapped victims during a gun battle at Konan Leda in Lokoja.

Eleven other victims later escaped due to the pressure from the troops’ assault.

Two motorcycles and a radio set were recovered, and an additional victim was rescued in the Kwali area of the FCT.

Meanwhile, troops of Operation Delta Safe intensified crackdowns on crude oil theft in the South-South.

In Eleme, Rivers State, soldiers and other security agencies uncovered 350 bags of stolen crude oil, estimated at 10,500 litres.

A separate patrol in Bonny recovered oil theft equipment—including hoses, a Yamaha engine, and jerricans—after suspects fled the scene.

Other theatres, including sectors under Operation HADIN KAI in the North-East and the ongoing phases of Desert Sanity IV, reported no major incidents as clearance and security operations continued.

Military sources reaffirmed that troops remain on heightened alert nationwide to deny terrorists and criminal elements any freedom of action.
