The troops of Operation Forest Sanity, Nigerian Army, have rescued seven kidnapped persons in Birnin Gwari and Chikun Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
The Kaduna State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, made the disclosure via a statement issued on Tuesday.
According to the commissioner, those rescued by the troops were Joseph Ishaku, John Bulus, and Gloria Shedrack, who was rescued with her four children, Jimre Shedrack, Jonathan Shedrack, Angelina Shedrack, and Abigail Shedrack.

“According to an operational feedback, the troops came under fire from bandits while on patrol along the Birnin Gwari-Gayam-Kuriga-Manini axis.
“The troops returned fire and promptly subdued the bandits, who fled into the forests, leaving behind the captives in their custody.
“The government of Kaduna State commended the troops and thanked them for their brave efforts in rescuing the victims,” Aruwan added.
He noted that the rescued victims have been reunited with their families.
