Troops rescue two abducted victims, seize terrorists’ motorcycles in Katsina

Two men abducted along the Dandume–Damari axis of Katsina State have been rescued by troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, during a counter-terrorism operation in Sabuwa Local Government Area.

The operation also led to the recovery of two motorcycles allegedly used by terrorists operating in the area.

The troops encountered an armed group while carrying out security operations in the area and engaged the suspected terrorists, forcing them to retreat into the surrounding terrain.

A follow-up search of the area and the route taken by the fleeing group resulted in the rescue of the two victims, who had been held captive before the troops’ intervention.

The rescued men have been placed under appropriate care and assessment as arrangements are made for their reunification with their families.

The recovered motorcycles were taken into custody as part of efforts to disrupt the movement and operations of terrorist and bandit groups in the area.

Security forces have also intensified surveillance and patrols across the affected communities and adjoining routes to deter further attacks and protect residents and travellers.

The operation is part of the ongoing campaign by Operation FANSAN YAMMA to dismantle criminal networks, secure communities and restore stability across Nigeria’s North-West region.
