Police in Zambia have arrested two co-wives accused of beating to death a woman suspected of having an affair with their shared husband.
The suspects, Musa Samutumwa, 24, and Ireen Nasilele, 32, both of Westwood area in Lusaka, appeared before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court on charges connected to the death of Josephine Ngulube.
Prosecutors told the court that Samutumwa and Nasilele allegedly attacked and killed Ngulube after suspecting her of being their husband’s mistress.
During the explanation of charge, both accused, who appeared calm in the dock, told the court they understood the offence they were facing.
The matter has not yet been committed to the High Court for plea and full trial. The two suspects are expected to reappear on Monday, May 4, 2026, for possible committal proceedings.
