Two killed in Kaduna road crash

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the death of two persons in a road accident along the Kaduna Western Bypass.

Kaduna Sector Commander, Andre Longkam, said the crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. at the Federal Eye Centre Junction and involved a DAF truck, a Honda car, and a motorcycle.

According to him, preliminary findings showed that the Honda vehicle collided with the motorcycle, leading to the death of the rider and a passenger.

Longkam added that the situation escalated when some youths set the affected vehicles ablaze, causing further damage.

He said FRSC officials, working with the police, quickly responded to the scene to control traffic and restore order, ensuring the free flow of vehicles.

The sector commander urged motorists to drive cautiously, particularly on roads under construction, and to obey traffic rules to prevent avoidable accidents.

He noted that investigations into the incident are ongoing, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to road safety.
