Governor Uba Sani has reiterated his administration’s commitment to completing every project initiated during his tenure, assuring that no project will be abandoned.
Speaking on Friday at the groundbreaking of township roads in Rigasa ward, Igabi Local Government Area, the Governor said the projects would be executed without borrowing, stressing that contractors would be paid promptly upon completion.
He announced that four roads in Rigasa had been awarded to the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), which he described as a credible and experienced company.
The projects, already funded with 50 percent mobilization fees, are expected to be completed within a year.
Sani highlighted Rigasa’s size and population, noting its long history of neglect despite being one of the largest wards in Nigeria and home to many hardworking residents. He pledged to transform the area into a modern township with better infrastructure and amenities.
“Rigasa has suffered neglect for too long. This project is about rewarding the hardworking people of Igabi Local Government,” he said.
The Governor also expressed gratitude to the community for its overwhelming support during the 2023 election, where the ward delivered over 32 percent of Igabi’s votes in his favor.
The Governor later performed a similar groundbreaking in Tudun Wada ward, Kaduna South LGA, for the reconstruction of Zango Road. He described the project as personally significant, recalling his days as a student at Kaduna Polytechnic located nearby.
“This community has endured poor infrastructure for decades. Today marks the beginning of good things for Zango and other parts of Tudun Wada,” Sani said.
He emphasized the road’s strategic importance, as it connects key institutions such as the Zango Cattle Market, Sheikh Abubakar Gumi College, the School of Health Technology, and links to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Western By-Pass.
Governor Sani also reviewed his administration’s progress under the Rural Revitalization Agenda, disclosing that 85 roads covering 785km were launched in the first phase—44 of which are completed—while the second phase involves over 50 additional roads and bridges totalling 550km.
