Governor Uba Sani has lauded Dr. Tajudeen Abbas as one of the most effective House Speakers in Nigeria’s history, highlighting his skill in managing the complexities of the lower legislative chamber.
Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the Renewed Hope Empowerment Programme in Zaria on Sunday, Governor Sani said his praise reflects not only his own view but also that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He thanked the President for supporting Speaker Abbas to ensure a smooth tenure.
“As a former senator, I know presiding over the House of Representatives is challenging with 360 members.
“Yet Speaker Abbas has brought unity and development to the House,” he said, noting the President’s commendation of the Speaker’s achievements.
Governor Sani also commended Abbas for championing youth and women empowerment across Zaria, Kaduna State, and Nigeria, saying: “My support for his Speakership was not political but development-driven.
His empowerment initiatives have vindicated that decision.”
He further revealed that Speaker Abbas has facilitated projects across all Kaduna State constituencies and is personally undertaking developments in all 23 local governments.
He called on Sabon Gari residents to advocate for a stadium, similar to the one in Zaria.
At the event in Kofar Doka, Zaria, traditional leaders received SUVs, farmers were given tractors, combine harvesters, fertiliser applicators, knapsack sprayers, and solar- or petrol-powered water pumps for irrigation.
Women were empowered with deep freezers, grinding machines, industrial sewing machines, and haulage tricycles to support entrepreneurship.
