Uba Sani receives 59 rescued kidnap victims in Kaduna

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has received 59 kidnapped victims who were recently rescued through the joint efforts of the state government, the Office of the National Security Adviser, and security agencies.

Receiving the rescued victims in Kaduna on Sunday, March 2, 2025, Sani disclosed that they were kept at the Kaduna State Shelter Home where they underwent medical treatment and psychosocial therapy.

He said after 10 days of intensive care and monitoring, the rescued victims were certified medically and psychologically fit to return to their families and carry out their normal activities.

The governor added: “The victims gave strong assurances that they will put the terrible experience behind them and focus on their families and businesses.

“In appreciation of their courage and resilience, as well as their firm determination to pursue their businesses despite the horrible experience, the State Government will support them with start-up funds and tools that will help them start life afresh.

“The Kaduna State Government remains committed to ensuring the safety of lives and property. We shall continue to do all that is necessary to sustain the prevailing peace and security in Kaduna State.

“Our Peace Model has been hailed as an innovative, result – oriented and sustainable path to peace building and conflict transformation.

“We shall continue along this noble path despite the machinations of individuals whose stock in trade is to play politics with security.”
