Umahi signs Tinubu’s nomination form, cites infrastructure gains

Minister of Works David Umahi has signed President Bola Tinubu’s nomination form for a second term, describing the gesture as a “victory form” and an endorsement of continuity in national governance.

In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Francis Nwaze, on Tuesday, Umahi said the signing represents a collective commitment to consolidating the administration’s achievements and sustaining ongoing development initiatives.

The minister pointed to infrastructure reforms — particularly road construction and rehabilitation projects — as evidence of Tinubu’s impact, saying the progress recorded so far provides a strong foundation for long-term national transformation.

He added that the President remains well positioned to complete ongoing initiatives and deepen development across all sectors, and called on Nigerians to support continued stable leadership as essential to achieving the country’s long-term goals.

The development follows the procurement of the All Progressives Congress Expression of Interest and Nomination forms by James Faleke, lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency and founder of the Tinubu Support Groups.

Faleke obtained the forms in Abuja after the process was declared open by APC National Organising Secretary Suleiman Argungu. The forms are valued at N100 million.

The procurement formally signals the commencement of Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has scheduled the presidential and National Assembly elections for January 16, 2027, and governorship and State Houses of Assembly polls for February 6, 2027.
