Undergraduate sanctioned for daring bandit to attack his university on TikTok

A 100-level Pharmacy student of Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State, has been arrested and disciplined after making an alarming comment during a TikTok Live session involving a suspected bandit.

The student, identified as Bakare Iyanuoluwa, reportedly typed: “Come to Owo if you’re bold enough—Achievers University precisely.”

His remark, interpreted as a provocation or invitation for an attack, sparked fear among students and staff, causing tension and disrupting normal activities on campus.

Iyanuoluwa appeared before the university’s disciplinary committee on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

While the institution confirmed he has been punished, it has yet to disclose whether the sanction involves suspension, expulsion, or another penalty.

Authorities say the matter is being handled to restore calm and reinforce campus security.
