A tragic incident has occurred at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, where a male student lost his life after reportedly jumping from a three-storey building near the university gate.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident happened at a student lodge close to the campus.
Residents in the area said they heard a loud thud and rushed outside, only to find the student lying in a pool of blood.
He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Preliminary reports suggest the student may have consumed hard drugs prior to the fall.

It was also discovered that his roommate, who was in the same apartment at the time, appeared to be under the influence of similar substances and was found in a disoriented and incoherent state.
The roommate has since been taken into police custody and is expected to be interrogated once he regains stability.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased, and efforts are ongoing to contact his family.
An official investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is currently underway.
