VIDEO: I rejected N5m to perform at Tinubu’s inauguration concert ― Portable

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, says he rejected N5 million to perform at Renewed Hope Concert in honour of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, and the Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima.

The concert organised by the youth wing of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was held at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Thursday night ahead of Tinubu’s inauguration on May 29, 2023.

Portable, in videos shared on his Instagram page on Friday, May 26, disclosed that the organisers of the concert offered him N5 million instead of N10 million for his performance.

The singer captioned the videos: “ZAzuu Them Dõn Rip Me oooh.

“Na Me Sing Akoi TINUBU ✍🏻 Eja Loni Ibu 💰 Give What Belongs To ZAZUU To ZAZUU.

“Many people go again Him Online But I Stand Now With One ☝️ Mind With One Mind No Love in the city belongs to where you belongs to Nigeria My Country Akoi Fake Love.”

Speaking in one of the videos, Portable said: “Na so una dey start o. Na me sing Akoi Tinubu o. No be Obi una dey vote for? Tinubu enter now those useless people una go dey perform there, no be me promote Tinubu? Akoi Tinubu.

“Na so them call my manager o. Say them want make I come perform for Abuja. Na N10 million them drop o, but na N5 million go reach Portable hand. Na so I no gree, I tear the paper. I delete their number, you dey whine Jesus? Na hin no make me perform for Abuja o.

“You dey gather go celebrate Tinubu. Did you love Tinubu? All those musicians no vote for Tinubu.”

Scores of musicians, including Timaya, Asake, Wande Coal, Buju, Waje, Brymo, Fireboy, Kcee, Pasuma, Naira Marley, and Seyi Vibes, amongst others, thrilled fans at the concert attended by Tinubu, Shettima, Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, and others.
