VIDEO: Kidnapped victims of Kaduna train attack beg govt for freedom

Abducted victims of the terror attack on the Abuja-Kaduna bound train have appealed to the Federal Government to negotiate with the terrorists to ensure their release from captivity.

The victims made the appeal in a video released by the terrorists on Sunday, becoming the second video to be released by the assailants.

The gunmen had earlier released a video showing the kidnapped Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture (BoA), Alwan Ali-Hassan, who later regained freedom last Wednesday.

The abductors said Ali-Hassan was released because of his age and for Ramadan fasting.

In the one-minute twenty-one seconds clip, Ali-Hassan was seen standing in front of a damaged Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) Machine Vehicle, sandwiched by four bandits in military camouflage with rifles.

The BoA MD was among the people kidnapped, following an attack on the Abuja-Kaduna bound train with over 362 passengers on March 28.

The Star had reported that suspected terrorists, on Monday, March 28, 2022, attacked a Kaduna-bound train, few kilometres to Kaduna metropolis.

The train departed Abuja 6 p.m. and was expected to arrive Kaduna 8 p.m.

But the train was attacked at about 7.45 p.m.

Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) said that as of April 4, 2022, 191 out of the 362 validated passengers on board the train were confirmed safe at their various homes, while 22 people were reported missing by their relatives and eight persons confirmed dead.

However, some of the kidnapped victims of the Kaduna train attack, in a new video released by their abductors, called on the government to come to their rescue.

The masked terrorists were clad in military uniforms and stood behind the abductees in the video clip.

The victims were seen in an unidentified location suspected to be a forest.

One of the abducted victims identified herself as a student of Kaduna State University, while another man said he was on his way to Kaduna for eye treatment when he was kidnapped by the gunmen.
