The Lagos State Police Command says it has launched an investigation into a viral video showing an officer being assaulted by a mob over alleged stealing in the state.
The viral video showed the yet-to-be-identified police officer beaten, with blood dripping from his mouth.
There were shouts from a visibly irate crowd of “Ole! Ole!”, meaning thief.
Reacting to the video on Thursday, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said the command had seen the footage and had began investigations.
