Vigilante gun misfire injures three in Katsina

Three members of a family were injured on Monday afternoon after a vigilante member accidentally discharged his weapon in Kusada Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The incident occurred at Gidan Mutum Daya, where the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Tukur Mustapha of the Community Watch Corps, allegedly misfired his rifle.

The victims — 28-year-old Murja Lawal, her two-year-old daughter, Anisa, and 26-year-old Abba Lawal — sustained gunshot wounds to their legs and were rushed to Katsina Teaching Hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene, while security operatives are making efforts to track him down.
