Yusuf launches APC grassroots mobilisation for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has launched a grassroots mobilisation campaign aimed at strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring that the party will begin its electoral push from the polling unit level.

The governor made the declaration during an interactive session with members of the APC Polling Unit Supporters Association, popularly known as ‘Yan Akwatina, led by Hon. Najib Abdulkadir Salati, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by his spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Yusuf said the APC was intensifying grassroots engagement to consolidate support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and ensure victory for the party in all elective positions in Kano and across the country.

He argued that a second term for Tinubu would enable the administration to consolidate its economic reforms and ongoing infrastructure development.

As part of efforts to strengthen the association, the governor donated plots of land and N100 million to support its activities.

Speaking at the event, the Governor’s Political Adviser, Mustapha Hamza Buhari Bakwana, described the meeting as the beginning of the party’s grassroots mobilisation strategy for the 2027 elections.

He said the association, which has structures across Kano’s 44 local government areas, 484 wards and all polling units in the state, has the capacity to mobilise more than 1.1 million votes for Tinubu in the next presidential election.

In his remarks, the association’s leader, Hon. Najib Abdulkadir Salati, commended the governor for appointing members of the group into state and local government positions, pledging the association’s commitment to delivering victory for the APC in 2027.

Also speaking, the APC Chairman in Kano State, Umar Haruna Doguwa, expressed confidence that the party would record a landslide victory in the state, saying Governor Yusuf’s performance had strengthened the APC’s position ahead of the next general elections.
