Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has relieved Buba Galadima as the Chairman of the Governing Council of Kano State Polytechnic
Yusuf appointed the Emir of Gaya, Dr Aliyu Abdulkadir, as Galadima’s replacement.
The governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, announced this in a statement issued on Saturday, February 14, 2026.

Dawakin-Tofa said the decision followed the restructuring and alignment with the ‘Kano First Agenda’, with the governor expressing appreciation to Galadima for his services to the institution.
Yusuf urged the new chairman to bring his experience and leadership to reposition the polytechnic for greater academic and administrative excellence.
