Two persons were confirmed dead while one was injured in an accident that occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Christmas Day, December 25, 2023.
Confirming the incident on Monday, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, said the accident, involving a Toyota bus and Mazda bus occurred at about 5:20 p.m.
Okpe attributed the accident on Christmas Day to speeding and wrongful overtaking.
The FRSC spokesperson said 15 persons, comprising 12 men and three women, were involved in the accident, of which two died and one was injured.

She disclosed that the injured victim was taken to Idera Hospital in Sagamu, Ogun State, for medical attention, and the deceased were deposited in the morgue of the same hospital.
Okpe quoted the Ogun State Sector Commander, Anthony Uga, as advising motorists to shun speeding and give maximum attention while driving.
Uga also sympathised with the family of the victims and advised people to contact FRSC, Sagamu, for more information on the crash.
