Abiodun: I’ll complete every ongoing project despite paucity of fund

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has said he is confronting the challenge of infrastructure deficit in the state despite the paucity of funds.

Abiodun said this while speaking to newsmen after a facility tour of the sites of ongoing and completed projects in the Ogun East Senatorial District, including the Gateway Agro Cargo Airport at Ilisan on Wednesday.

The governor, who said he came prepared because he sought the job, stressed that he is not complaining, but to give background information as to why the challenges became daunting, especially bad roads across the three senatorial districts of the state which his administration has begun to tackle.

Speaking on the deplorable state of Sango Ota -Oke Aro-Ojodu Abiodun road linking Lagos State, Abiodun said past administrations neglected the area by abandoning the road and others.

He, however, promised to provide palliative work to fix the craters on the road before December to allow free flow of traffic, adding that he would also work on permanent construction that would solve the problem faced on the road.

On his part, the Ogun State Commissioner for Works, Engr Ade Akinsanya, said the Denro-Ishashi road corridor which is nearing completion would also provide alternative route for the residents of Lambe/Akute who work in Lagos State.

On the completion date of the Agro Cargo Airport, Akinsanya said the feature of the airport was a blend of San Francisco Airport and Dubai, adding that it would be ready in December.

The Control Tower and Runaway, the two most important features in airports, according to him, have reached 80 per cent.

The commissioner stated that the most special part of the Agro Cargo Airport is the economic deals with African Development Bank (AfDB) to site an Agro testing firm at Sagamu, adding that most of the agricultural products in Nigeria lack certification which has made their exportation to other countries impossible.
