APC releases list of disqualified Reps aspirants across states

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a list of House of Representatives aspirants who were marked “not cleared” across several states ahead of its National Assembly primaries for the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on Saturday and signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party said the affected aspirants were disqualified following its screening exercise conducted across constituencies nationwide.

According to the statement, the screening committees operated in line with established party guidelines and procedures to determine eligibility for participation in the primaries.

The list of disqualified aspirants spans Ondo, Bauchi, Ebonyi, Kogi and Rivers States, with several prominent politicians affected.

In Ondo State, multiple aspirants across constituencies including Idanre/Ifedore, Akoko and Owo/Ose federal constituencies were marked “not cleared.”

In Bauchi State, Bashir Ibrahim Bello of Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency was affected, while in Ebonyi State, Idu Igariwe of Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency also appeared on the list.

In Kogi State, Sanni Salau Ogembe from Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency was disqualified, while several aspirants in Rivers State were also marked “not cleared,” including Boma Goodhead and others from various constituencies.

The APC did not provide specific reasons for the disqualification of the affected aspirants.

Meanwhile, in Katsina State, Jamila Mani emerged winner of the APC primary for Mani/Bindawa Federal Constituency.

In Adamawa State, the party’s House of Representatives primaries were disrupted in several wards after officials failed to arrive in time, leaving party members waiting without communication on the exercise’s commencement.

The APC said the ongoing primaries remain part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
