Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted a newly married couple in Madabanciya village in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
It was gathered that the couple were abducted by bandits during an attack on the village on Sunday night.
A resident of the area, Ibrahim Sani, disclosed that the gunmen, who were wielding sophisticated weapons, stormed the village at about 11 p.m. and shot indiscriminately to scare residents.
He added: “The gunmen stole a large number of animals, food items and other valuables.

“In the process of going round the village, they came across a newly married couple and took them to the forest.”
Sani, who said no security operative was deployed to the village to protect the residents despite the security challenges affecting the state, called on the authorities to deploy security personnel to the area.
The Zamfara State Police Command has however yet to speak on the incident as of press time.
