Al Ettifaq have agreed to terminate the contract of the club’s midfielder, Jordan Henderson, following a link with Dutch giants Ajax.

Al Ettifaq, on Wednesday, also agreed to let Henderson leave their training camp in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and return to England, as he searches for a new club.

Ajax remain in talks over a permanent deal to sign the former Liverpool midfielder.

On Monday, Sky Sports reported that Ajax were positive about striking a deal and hoping to do so this week.

In a post on his X account on Wednesday, football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, said: “Jordan Henderson, set to travel to Amsterdam before the weekend to complete Ajax move.
