Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, says the President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, usually advises him to save his money.

Davido said the only advice Dangote gives him every time they see each other is “to save my money”.

The Afrobeats star said this in a recent interview at the ‘Forbes Under 30’ summit in Botswana.

The famous singer further described Dangote, who is the richest man in Africa, as a disciplined and different billionaire.

“Uncle Aliko is a different type of billionaire. Uncle Aliko buys two cars every eight years. He is a very disciplined and a different kind of billionaire.

“Every time I see him, he just says one thing and one thing only; save your money. There is nothing more he tells me other than to save my money.

“He and my dad have been very close friends since I was young.  He has done well for us back home; he has made us a lot of industries. He does it all; he just opened the biggest cement plant in Africa. That will provide jobs. Also, what we do, we have an electricity company so the top men in Nigeria do what they can to provide,” Davido said.

Davido had said his father, Adedeji, doesn’t like to see him spend excessively on materialistic things.

The DMW boss disclosed that he and his father, sometimes, argue over how he spends money, adding that Adeleke, a billionaire businessman, usually advises him on savings and investments.
