Gunmen have killed no fewer than 15 residents and two soldiers during an attack on three communities in Apa Local Government Area of Benue State.
It was gathered that the attacks occurred at about 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, in Opaha, Odogbo, and Edikwu communities in Apa LGA of Benue State.
It was learned that the two soldiers of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) were killed while trying to repel the attackers from the communities.

Confirming the attacks on Wednesday, the Chairman of Apa Development Association, Eche Akpoko, disclosed that 10 dead bodies, including two soldiers were already recovered from the affected communities.
Speaking with journalists, the Benue State Commissioner for Finance, David Olofu, who hails from Opaha, said the bodies of 15 villagers and two soldiers were recovered on Wednesday morning.
Olofu said he would visit his hometown to assess the situation.
Meanwhile, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Catherine Anene, has yet to speak on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
