EFCC arrests 3 siblings for internet fraud, recovers N3.5m

The operatives of the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested three siblings for suspected internet fraud in Benue State.

EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

Oyewale noted that the three brothers were arrested along New Garage, Wadata in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, on Friday, May 17, 2024.

He revealed that the suspects – Abubakar Sadiq Adejoh, Mohammed Habib Adejoh, and Solomon Adejoh – allegedly specialise in diverting customers’ funds from their accounts to a Point of Sale (PoS) terminal for withdrawal.

The EFCC spokesperson listed items recovered from the arrested siblings to include a car, six mobile phones, one laptop, and cash totalling N3,562,750.

“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” Oyewale added.
