EFCC arrests woman over N165m land fraud in Delta

The Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a 48-year-old woman, Mrs. Salt Adeaze Udoka, over her alleged involvement in a N165 million property fraud.

Udoka is accused of conspiring with two others to obtain the money from a victim under the pretext of selling a parcel of land.

According to preliminary investigations by the Commission, the victim transferred the sum to Udoka and one of her accomplices, Ndubisi John Iheukwumere, after they promised to sell him a 100-acre property located in Ewulu Kingdom, Delta State.

However, after receiving the payment, the suspects allegedly went into hiding and severed all communication with the buyer, leaving him without the land or a refund.

The EFCC said the suspect has provided useful information to investigators and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
