Eid-Maulud: FG declares Monday public holiday

The Federal Government has declared Monday, September 16, 2024, as a public holiday to mark Eid-Maulud, the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr Magdalene Ajani, on Friday, September 13.

Ajani quoted the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who made the declaration on behalf of the federal government, as congratulating the Muslim faithful both at home and in the diaspora on the occasion.

Tinubu: Economic reforms’ll bring new era of prosperity for Nigerians

Tunji-Ojo urged the Muslim faithful, and by extension, Nigerians, to imbibe the spirit of patience, sacrifice, and resilience.

While congratulating the Muslims on Eid-Maulud, the minister implored them to use the opportunity of the period to pray for enduring peace and a more prosperous nation.
