Eriksen returns to England, joins EPL club

Former Tottenham midfielder, Christian Eriksen, has returned to the English Premier League, signing for Brentford until the end of the season.

Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, made the disclosure via his verified Twitter handle on Monday.

Romano described Eriksen’s signing as best news of the transfer window so far.

He wrote, “Official, confirmed. Christian Eriksen is back, here we go! 🇩🇰 #Eriksen

“Brentford have completed the signing of Eriksen on a six month deal with option to extend until June 2023.

“He wanted to play football again and it’s now signed. Best news of the window so far.”

A statement confirming the signing of the Danish footballer by Brentford read: “Brentford FC can confirm the signing of Denmark international midfield player Christian Eriksen, subject to international clearance.”

Brentford added that the midfielder joined the club “after completing a medical assessment”.

Eriksen, who suffered a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark at Euro 2020 last summer, was a free agent after leaving Inter Milan by mutual consent.

Rules in Italy prevented the 29-year-old midfielder from playing with a implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) device fitted in his heart.
