Flood sweeps away JSS student in Ondo

A Junior Secondary School student of Mount Carmel Girls School, Ikare Akoko, Ondo State, has been swept away by a flood.

The student, identified as Motunrayo John, was swept by the flood after a downpour in the Semusemu area of the community on Tuesday.

It was gathered that the girl, while playing with erosion, put her legs in the water as she mistakenly slipped into the water.

The incident was confirmed by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Ikare Akoko, Molatujoye Akinwande, noting that the school principal, Mrs. Ajoke Asiwaju, reported the matter at the police station.

Akinwande said efforts were ongoing to rescue the student.
