Osun polls: 22 govs, 10 ministers lead APC campaign

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as the chairman of an 86-member National Campaign Council for the Osun State governorship election.

This was made known via a statement issued by the APC National Chairman and Secretary, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu and Sen. Iyiola Omisore, respectively, on Tuesday.

The gubernatorial election has been slated for July 16, 2022, with the incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola as the APC candidate.

The APC campaign council also has Governors Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), Abubakar Sani Bello (Niger), Abubakar Atiku (Kebbi), Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), and Dr Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti) as co-chair.

Other co-chairs are Governors Babagana Zulum (Borno), Yahaya Bello (Kogi), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Aminu Masari (Katsina), Abdulrahaman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), and Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa).

The members of the council include Governors Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Hope Uzodinma (Imo), Simeon Lalong (Plateau), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), and Dave Umahi (Ebonyi).

Others are Governors Ben Ayade (Cross River) Mohammed Matawalle (Zamfara); Senate President, Ahmad Lawan; and Speaker of House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.

According to the statement, the council will be officially inaugurated by the APC national chairman on Thursday.
