The funeral prayer (Janaza) for two of British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua’s close friends will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at the London Central Mosque.
Sina Ghami and Abdul Latif “Latz” Ayodele, both members of Joshua’s training team and long-time companions, tragically lost their lives in a road accident in Nigeria on December 29, 2025.
Their bodies were repatriated to the United Kingdom ahead of the service, which is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the mosque on Park Road, London.
Ghami, who served as Joshua’s strength and conditioning coach, and Ayodele, his personal trainer, died when the Lexus SUV carrying them and Joshua collided with a stationary truck on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State. Joshua survived the crash with minor injuries.
The London service will allow family, friends, and members of the global boxing community to pay their final respects to the duo, whose deaths have prompted an outpouring of condolences.
