Gboyega Aribisogan elected Ekiti Assembly Speaker

The members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly have elected Gboyega Aribisogan as the new Speaker of the Assembly.

Aribisogan was sworn in at the plenary on Tuesday by the clerk of the House, Tola Esan.

The new Speaker hails from Ijesha-Isu in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

The number one legislative seat became vacant following the death of Funminiyi Afuye on October 19.

Afuye, who represented Ikere Constituency 1 at the Assembly, was buried last Friday in his country home, Ikere-Ekiti.
