Gov Uba Sani arrives Beijing to finalise $200m poultry investment deal

Kaduna State governor, Senator Uba Sani, has arrived in Beijing, China, to advance high-level negotiations on the establishment of a $200 million Model Integrated Poultry Development Project in the state.

The governor said the visit followed earlier engagements with the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, during a meeting at the Kaduna State Liaison Office in Abuja on November 5, 2025.

Governor Sani is accompanied by a Federal Government delegation led by the Director-General of the Nigeria–China Strategic Partnership, Joseph Tegba, signalling the national significance of the initiative.

According to the governor, the project—touted as one of the most ambitious poultry ventures in West Africa—will generate more than $450 million annually once operational.

It is also expected to create over 350,000 direct and indirect jobs along the poultry value chain, boost food security, stimulate agro-industrialisation and enhance Nigeria’s export potential.

While in China, the governor will hold meetings with China Communications Construction Company and other key stakeholders in the country’s agricultural value chain to deepen technical cooperation and secure long-term investment commitments.

Sani reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to attracting major investments that expand economic opportunities, particularly for young people, and improve the overall living conditions in Kaduna State.

He also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for selecting Kaduna as the pilot location for the project, and thanked the Chinese Government for its continued support and partnership.
