‘I’m a mommy’: Toke Makinwa welcomes baby girl

Media personality Toke Makinwa has welcomed her first child, a girl.

Makinwa announced the birth of the girl via a post on her Instagram page on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

The 40-year-old radio personality, who only shared the hands of the baby, described the girl’s birth as the “happiest I’ve ever been”.

She also revealed the name of the girl as Yakira Eliana.

Makinwa wrote: “I’m a Mommy💕…… This is the happiest I’ve ever been.

“My precious daughter, the love I never knew existed, my heart in another human being, my love.

“I have seen the goodness of God in my life time, I have seen God move and I no longer just hear of it, I see it. It ended in praise, My miracle is here. 💃💕🌸

“Yakira Eliana, Olakitan, Iyanuoluwa, Ikeoluwa, Adunola 💕

“My heart overflows with so much gratitude. God heard, God answered.

“Every single detail, down to your fingers and toes oh he heard my prayers.

“Meet my miracle, Yakira Eliana — Precious, Beloved — of great worth, My God has answered 💕🕊️✨”

Makinwa had announced on August 13, 2025, that she was expecting her first child.

The radio personality, who shared a video of herself in a flowery dress showing off her baby bump, expressed joy and gratitude to God, just as she described the pregnancy as the “biggest project of my life”.
