Professor Muhammad Sani Bello has resigned as Kaduna State’s Commissioner for Information and member of the State Executive Council.
His resignation was conveyed in a letter titled “Notice of Voluntary Resignation” dated July 29, 2025, and addressed to the Secretary to the State Government. In the letter, Professor Bello stated, “With reference to letter number GH/KD/S/171 dated 27th July 2023, appointing me as Commissioner and Member of the Kaduna State Executive Council, I wish to notify you of my decision to voluntarily resign with immediate effect.”
He expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve under Governor Uba Sani, first as Commissioner for Education and later as the pioneer Commissioner for Information.
In response, Governor Uba Sani has appointed Alhaji Ahmed Maiyaki as the new Commissioner for Information.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued Tuesday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Malam Ibraheem Musa.
Prior to his new role, Maiyaki served as the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC).
His elevation is seen as a strategic step to enhance the state government’s communication machinery.
