Bagwai local government areas for three months.
The decision was announced on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on New Media, Ibrahim Adam, through a post on his verified Facebook page.
According to Adam, the lawmakers approved the suspension, effectively removing the three chairmen from office for the duration of the sanction.
“The Chairmen of Bebeji, Rogo and Bagwai Local Government Areas have been suspended from office for three months by the Kano State House of Assembly,” he stated.
The Assembly has yet to officially announce the reasons behind the action, while the state government has also remained silent on the matter.
As of the time of filing this report, no official statement had been released explaining the allegations against the affected council chairmen or the legal framework guiding the suspension.
The development comes as residents await further clarification from the Assembly on the circumstances surrounding the decision.
