Lagos police grill Pastor Adefarasin over gun-like object in viral video

The Lagos State Police Command has interrogated the senior pastor and founder of House on the Rock church, Paul Adefarasin, over the viral video of him holding a gun-like object.

A viral video recently showed Pastor Adefarasin pointing a gun-like object at a content creator while driving in Lagos.

Adefarasin, while holding what looked like a pistol with his right hand, also warned the content creators against making a video of his car.

“Boss, boss, sorry sir, sorry sir,” the car spotter was heard in the video hailing Adefarasin, who drove away.

The pastor thereafter denied the allegations.

Speaking on the development via a statement on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the Lagos State Police Command disclosed that Adefarasin turned himself in at its headquarters.

The command said in a statement on X: “No one is above the law!

“Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, and is currently being interrogated by detectives who have commenced investigation on the case since a video surfaced online showing the pastor holding a gun-like object against another road user, while driving in an unregistered vehicle.”

The police added that the outcome of the investigation will be made public.
