‘Mr project’ lives up to name: Tinubu celebrates Wike on birthday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Chief Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former governor of Rivers State, on his birthday, December 13, hailing his contributions to national development and public service.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu expressed gratitude to God for enriching Chief Wike with “a life defined by purpose, service, and courage.”

Describing the Minister as “an audacious top performer who defies obstacles and delivers results,” the President highlighted Wike’s ongoing role in transforming the FCT through significant infrastructure projects.

Tinubu specifically commended the Minister’s intervention in resolving the 14-year delay in the construction of the Apo-Karshi road, marking it as a milestone in the capital’s development.

President Tinubu praised Wike’s resilience, commitment to excellence, and “can-do attitude,” noting that his efforts in the FCT reflect the same dedication that earned him the nickname “Mr Project” during his tenure as Rivers State governor.

“Nyesom Wike has been one of the shining stars in the cabinet, an exceptional performer, developing infrastructure in the Federal Capital as never seen before and proving that his moniker as ‘Mr Project’ is not limited to his home state of Rivers,” the President said.

Despite Wike’s membership in a different political party, Tinubu acknowledged him as a “champion of our Renewed Hope Agenda” and wished him continued strength and success in his duties.

Chief Wike marks another year in his life on December 13, receiving accolades from the President for his consistent efforts in delivering results and shaping the growth of the nation’s capital.
