Mutfwang sacks 6 appointees, suspends one

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has sacked six of his appointees and suspended one other.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Samuel Jatau, announced this via a statement issued on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Jatau said the move was part of the government’s efforts towards repositioning for greater efficiency and effective service delivery.

The affected appointees include the Special Adviser to the Governor on Strategic Communication, Timothy Golu; the Liaison Officer for Jos South, Fom Gwottson; and the Liaison Officers for Langtang North, Nanbol Rimvyat and Nannim Langyi.

Others are the Liaison Officers for Qua’an Pan and Langtang South, Paul Datugum and Nimchat Rims, respectively.

Plateau gets schools, roads, water boost as Mutfwang marks birthday

The governor also suspended the Chairman of the Plateau State House of Assembly Service Commission, Johnbull Shekarau, over conduct that negates the standards of his office.

Mutfwang directed the affected officials to hand over all government properties in their possession to the appropriate quarters.

Mutfwang, who thanked the affected appointees for their contributions to his administration, wished them success in their future endeavours.
