Naira gains against dollar, trades N1,456/$ at official market

The naira opened the trading week on a stronger note on Monday, December 22, 2025, appreciating against the United States dollar at the official market to trade at N1,456.56.

Data released by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the naira gained N7.93.

Dangote unveils hotline to report MRS stations selling PMS above ₦739

This represents a 0.5 per cent gain when compared to Friday, December 19, when the local currency traded at N1,464.49 to a dollar.

The gain represents an improvement for currency which experienced depreciation in the previous week.
