NNPP, families agree on replacing late Kano Assembly members Kano assembly

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano State says it has reached a mutual agreement with the families of two late members of the Kano State House of Assembly on the process for choosing their replacements.

The state party chairman, Dr. Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa, explained that the decision followed extensive consultations led by the party’s national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Dungurawa said Kwankwaso met party stakeholders and relatives of the deceased lawmakers at his residence in Kano, where they discussed the next steps.

According to him, the talks were cordial and productive.
“We discussed openly and agreed on the procedure to follow,” he said.

He added that the party is considering Sa’ad Aminu Sa’ad and Nabil Aliyu Daneji as possible replacements and expressed confidence that they would uphold the legacy of service left behind by their fathers.

The lawmakers passed away on December 24, 2025, after separate illnesses, creating vacancies in the state assembly.

Dungurawa assured that the NNPP will manage the replacement process with respect and transparency, strictly in line with party rules and electoral laws.
