Osimhen: Our semi-final game against Morocco won’t be easy

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has cautioned that Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations semi-final encounter with host nation Morocco will be a difficult challenge, despite expressing strong confidence in the team’s quality and depth.

Osimhen spoke after Nigeria secured a convincing 2–0 victory over Algeria to book a place in the last four of the tournament.

According to him, the Super Eagles are taking the competition step by step and remain focused as they prepare for the highly anticipated clash.

“It won’t be an easy game for us, but I trust this team and the players we have,” he said, stressing the importance of concentration and collective effort.

Osimhen has been one of Nigeria’s standout performers at AFCON 2025, scoring three goals so far, and will be aiming to increase his goal tally when the Super Eagles face Morocco on Wednesday.

Reacting to the quarter-final triumph over Algeria, Osimhen also praised Nigerian fans for their unwavering support, describing the win as a hard-fought result.

He assured supporters that the team is determined to maintain its momentum and push for ultimate success at the tournament.

“Thank you to all Super Eagles fans around the world for standing by us,” he said in a video shared by the Confederation of African Football on X.

“We will keep building and, by God’s grace, reach the final and win the trophy,” Osimhen added.
