Plateau to host Miss Tourism Africa, mister tourism international 2025

Plateau State, Nigeria, has been officially named the host of the 2025 edition of Miss Tourism Africa and Mister Tourism Africa International, marking a major milestone for the state’s cultural and tourism promotion efforts.

The continental event, now in its fourth season, will take place in Jos, the state capital—renowned for its scenic landscapes and rich tourism heritage. The grand finale will bring together 50 international delegates from across Africa, including 30 contestants vying for the Miss Tourism Africa crown and 20 competing for Mister Tourism Africa International.

The 2025 edition has received full endorsement from the Plateau State Government under the leadership of Governor Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality.

The event is being positioned as one of the key cultural and tourism development projects in the state.

“Jos is not just a city—it is Africa’s Home of Peace and Tourism,” said Dr. Raymond Okonkwo, Patron of Miss Tourism Africa. “This is a platform to showcase Plateau’s beauty to the world and empower young Africans through tourism, talent, and trade.”

Ambassador Seth Santiago Roberts, Founder and President of the Miss and Mister Tourism Africa International organization, highlighted the strategic choice of Jos as host city: “Our goal has always been to use pageantry as a tool for meaningful tourism development across Africa.

Jos, with its breathtaking scenery, vibrant culture, and peaceful atmosphere, perfectly embodies that vision.”

The event promises to place Plateau State in the continental spotlight, further establishing it as a growing destination for tourism, creativity, and international engagement.
