The operatives of the Imo State Police Command have arrested three suspects with a human skull, a local hen, and white garments on the Okigwe–Umuahia expressway in the state.
The Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Henry Okoye, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
Okoye said the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Okigwe Divisional Headquarters in collaboration with residents of Ogii community on Monday, February 3.
Okoye said the suspects, Patrick Okoere, 29, 28-year-old Ifeanyichukwu Anyaemeka, and Chukwuemeka Onyekachi, 20, are currently under investigation.
He stated: “During questioning, Okoera stated that his uncle, Osunta Oko, had asked him to acquire a human skull.

“He claimed to have found the human skull along a riverbank on the Okigwe–Umuahia expressway, an area where the command has received cases of kidnappings in Imo State.”
The police spokesman said the command was actively pursuing Oko and other possible accomplices in connection with the incident.
“In addition, a DNA analysis is underway to determine the identity of the skull’s owner,” Okoye added.
Okoye reiterated the commitment of the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, to safeguarding the safety and security of all residents.
He stressed that justice would be served and that the suspects would face prosecution upon the conclusion of the investigation.
