Port Harcourt Ring Road: Fubara commends Julius Berger over project progress

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on the ongoing Port Harcourt Ring Road project being handled by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc.

The governor spoke on Monday during an unscheduled inspection of the project, which includes the construction of the Creek Bridge.

He praised the engineering firm for what he described as its commitment to delivering timely and quality infrastructure across the state.

“I am satisfied with what Julius Berger is doing on this project. You can see the speed and positive changes.

“The people appreciate the work being done,” Fubara said during the tour, drawing applause from residents and community members at various stops.

He noted that construction of the five flyovers along the ring road is nearing completion, while work has commenced on the Creek Bridge, which he described as critical to improving connectivity and the movement of people and goods across communities.

According to the governor, the bridge will eliminate the risks residents currently face when crossing the river by canoe or boat.

He urged communities to continue supporting the contractor to ensure smooth and timely delivery of the project.

Fubara confirmed that the 50.15-kilometre ring road, which cuts across five local government areas, remains on schedule for completion by October 2026.

He added that the project, which began in 2023, has received consistent funding and remains a top priority of his administration due to its expected impact on easing traffic congestion and improving urban infrastructure in Port Harcourt.
