Shooting Stars assistant coach slumps, dies during training

The Assistant Coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Ibadan in Oyo State, Akin Olowokere, has died.

It was gathered that the Shooting Stars assistant coach died after slumping during training in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Monday, August 11, 2025.

Eyewitnesses disclosed that Olowokere slumped on the pitch during the team training session on Monday and was rushed to the hospital.

He was, however, confirmed dead at the hospital where he was rushed to.

CAS affirms Crystal Palace’s demotion to Conference League

The club has yet to speak on the incident as of press time.

The former Sunshine Stars of Akure player and later tactician was recently unveiled as one of the coaches of the Oluyole Warriors after the club parted ways with the Gbenga Ogunbote-led coaching crew.

Olowokere was for years a regular player with his state club, Sunshine Stars, before taking up a coaching job.

He recently served as an assistant coach with the club, under head coach Edith Agoye.
