A Family Court sitting in the Iyaganku area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, has remanded a tenant, Kareem Mojeed, in Agodi Correctional Centre for defiling his landlord’s seven-year-old daughter.
The Chief Magistrate, Olabisi Ogunkanmi, ordered the remand of Mojeed on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
The prosecutor, Inspector Gbemisola Adedeji, told the court that Mojeed committed the offence at about 5 p.m. in the Ebedi area of Ibadan on July 21.

Adedeji said the tenant lured the girl into his room and defiled her.
He added that the offence contravenes the provisions of Section 34 of the Oyo State Child’s Rights Law, 2006.
The Chief Magistrate, who did not take Mojeed’s plea, ordered that the case file should be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
Ogunkanmi, therefore, adjourned the case until October 14 for DPP’s advice.
