Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has opened up about the steps she took to cope with the trauma of her leaked sex tape, describing it as one of the darkest moments of her life.
In an interview with British media personality Zeze Mills, posted on YouTube on Friday, August 8, 2025, the singer recalled that the 2021 scandal came at the same time she was mourning the death of her father.
“My dad died and my sex tape was released.
“The only way I could have survived was not to think about it,” the All Over crooner said.
Tiwa described the interview as a blessing, saying it gave her the chance to reflect on her journey.
“Just the fact that you even want to talk to me, people want to hear what I want to say after how many years. It feels good.
“I’ve gone through so much, but have I really enjoyed the moment?” she asked.
The 45-year-old also shared her thoughts on love, admitting she has only experienced true love with her son.
“Looking back at my relationships, even my marriage, I realise it wasn’t love,” she said, adding that repeated disappointments have made her question whether romantic love is meant for her.
“Maybe love isn’t for me because I have tried over and over again, so maybe love isn’t for me this lifetime,” she concluded.
