Troops find another abducted Chibok schoolgirl

Troops of the Nigerian Army have intercepted another abducted girl from Government Girls’ Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State in 2014.

This was disclosed via a tweet on the Nigerian Army’s Twitter handle on Thursday.

The rescued victim was identified as Hauwa Joseph.

The army stated that Joseph was found with her baby, adding that the rescued victims are currently in a military hospital.

The tweet read: “Troops during clearance operations on 14 June 2022 intercepted another abducted girl from GGSS Chibok named Hauwa Joseph, who was kidnapped by Boko Haram on 14 April 2014.

“The intercepted Chibok girl and her baby are currently in a military medical facility.”

The latest development comes barely 24 hours after the Nigerian Army announced that its troops found one Mrs Mary Ngoshe believed to be one of the kidnapped girls from Government Girls’ Secondary School in 2014.

The army disclosed that Ngoshe was found with her son by the troops while on patrol around Ngoshe in Borno State.

Also on Wednesday, the army disclosed that 204 Boko Haram terrorists, including their family members surrendered to the troops in Borno State.

It stated that the terrorists surrendered to the troops in Bama Local Government Area of the state.

Earlier, the Nigerian Army said the troops of Operation Desert Sanity and the Civilian Joint Task Forces (CJTF) killed terrorists of the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) around Gurzum, Borno State.

The army added that the forces also destroyed the terrorists’ market and camps, noting that weapons, amongst others were also recovered from the insurgents.
